Minister of Religion & African Contemporary Worship & Wellbeing Director Vacancy

Location: South East London

Type:  Full-time

Salary: Up to £28,000 a year

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Lead and oversee religious services, including preaching, teaching, and pastoral care.
  • Develop and coordinate African contemporary worship experiences that reflect cultural expressions of faith, particularly in Igbo and English.
  • Organize and lead prayer meetings, Bible study sessions, and discipleship programs.
  • Support the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of congregants through counseling, mentorship, and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with the worship team to incorporate traditional African music, instruments, and styles into church services.
  • Plan and facilitate events, retreats, and programs that promote holistic wellbeing (spiritual, mental, and emotional).
  • Engage with local and international African communities to foster spiritual growth and cultural inclusivity.

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be fluent in both Igbo and English (spoken and written).
  • Ordained minister or extensive experience in church leadership and pastoral ministry.
  • Strong background in African contemporary worship, including knowledge of traditional and modern African gospel music.
  • Experience in spiritual counseling, mentoring, and community outreach.
  • Ability to plan and lead wellbeing initiatives that align with Christian faith and cultural sensitivity.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A deep commitment to the Christian faith and the mission of the church.

Desirable Skills:

  • Musical ability (playing instruments such as drums, keyboard, or traditional African instruments) is an advantage.
  • Experience in organizing large worship gatherings or conferences.
  • Background in holistic wellbeing, mental health, or community support services.
